This past Monday I decided to ride Schofield Pass despite the weather forecast saying there was a 70% chance of rain, but not just rain but at times heavy rains.  Our route was to take us through a river valley which was probably not the smartest route as for weeks we have been having flood warners almost daily.

We got a some what late start to our day, due to our reluctance to start a 6 hour ride when the weather looked so nasty out.  We drove to Marble. CO, where we parked at Slow Grovin’ BBQ.  Of course the plan was to ride our asses off over the pass and back, then eat some delicious BBQ.

For once I don’t believe Garmin has the elevation gain is correct.  It was probably closer to 6000′.  What follows are photos from our adventure.
