I was very itchy last night at the motel and didn’t sleep well at first. Maybe it was the four sodas I had throughout the day. 6 am came way too fast and none of us really wanted to move.

It was chilly at the start but we got warm fast. A missed turn had us road walking a similar route to the trail. We stayed on the road as eventually they would meet up. We spent the rest of the day on more lower quality dirt roads right on the Divide. We also had so great single track to walk on too. All in all a pleasant day.

We met yet another very late SOBO named Trail Blazer. He had a large pack! I wish him well with the lateness of his hike.

We are camped at Lemhi Pass, next to the Lewis & Clark Highway and Sacajawea Memorial Camp. The sunset had promise but didn’t produce in the end.

Today I passed 2100 miles. That means just under 700 to go. I thought I’d finish the 6th originally. Then switched it to the 12th, then the 8th, then back to the 6th. Now I’m thinking it might be the 4th of September. 30 mile days are the norm now.
