For NAHBS 2018 Day 2 I focused on the components and gear offerings from the show. I found everything from socks to internal gear boxes. Compared to say Interbike, NAHBS is small but if you took the time to look you could find some pretty interesting finds.
Riivo Custom Cycling Footwear. Originally a manufacturer of speed skating shoes Riivo has been making fully custom road and mountain bike shoes for years.
Thomson – NAHBS was a chance for Thomson to showcase multiple new items to their already great line up.

Enduro Bearings – You can now get Stainless Steel cartridge bearings for your headset from Enduro. They are also using XT-15 Steel “nitrogen steel” on all hubs and bottom brackets now. You could literally run your hubs or bb without grease with the XT-15 steel.
Industry Nine – New road wheels are here! The 19.35, 19.45 and 19.65 disc (six bolt or center lock). Inner width 21mm and 29.5mm outer on the 45. $2300 to $2400.
Clever – The Clever Chain Barrel has been out for a while but today I learned they are coming out with a device so you can store it in the end of your handlebar.
White Industries – If you saw the White Industries Press Fit BB cups together you wouldn’t think twice but when you take them apart and see that there actually threaded together, it changes the whole game. These actually don’t “press” into your BB but tighten together. No more creaky press fit BB’s!
Landyachtz Reform Saddles – Don’t have time or want to take the time to break in a leather saddle but you still want the same comfort? Well Landychtz has the answer. Their Reform saddles have a connection on the bottom where you can plug the saddle in, thus heating up the moldable padding. Get on your bike and ride it around as it cools and you now have a saddle that is conformed to your shape.
Paragon Machine Works – The gurus over at PMW made some changes and added some items to their already extensive line up.
Silca – The Seat Roll Primeo got a make over. The position of the BOA system has moved slightly for better synching and the elastic strap closure point has also moved to allow for a tighter wrap.
They also introduced latex tubes geared towards todays wider gravel tires. They come in 700 x 24-30mm with a 42mm length valve stem and their also offering 40 and 70mm valve extenders.
DeFeet – Looking to be greener DeFeet is now making the Woolie Boolie sock line. It’s a wool and polyester blend. 50% Merino Wool/50% Recycled Poly.
Come back tomorrow as I’ll be bringing highlights from Day 3 of the NAHBS 2018 Show. Day 3 will highlight more bikes from the show. In case you missed it checkout Day 1’s report.
