I slept okay despite a lot on my mind which I won’t get into. My sore back bugged me most of the night. I didn’t know till now I did 35.2 miles yesterday.

I tried to sleep in as I only planned a half day today but couldn’t. I figured I do laundry but it didn’t open until 10 am. I spent the morning looking at numbers again, charging my phone and re packing my pack. I spoke with Frodo and Tillman too.

The plan was to start hiking at noon. I got going around 12:39. It wasn’t a well thought out plan as it was like 90 out. (NEWS FLASH I have critters in the trees above my tent. Squirrels? Owls?) the hike started with a 10 mile uphill with about 1% of it shade. Okay I’m not lying about the 10 miles but maybe there was 2% shade on the way up.

I hoped to do 20 miles but the last three would have been a climb and I was tried. I also had a semi bushwhack which was about 5 miles long after the climb.

Plain and simple it was hot as balls and I was tried. It’s ironic Day 100 would be a ball buster. 100 days on the trail, 1900 of 2700 miles done, 3 of 5 states complete and still so much to see. I am truly blessed to be out here. Though today was very hard I appreciate it over the easy days. I’ve seen so much already and there’s more! Life at home will be boring and dull afterwards. But as they say “It’s what YOU make of it!”
