NW Trail Pass Required

Our actual route was the following:  Parked at FR 4305 and Salmon La Sac Rd.  Rode West along Salmon La Sac Rd to RD 4315 (right turn), climbed 4315 to the end where we ran into Sasse Mtn. Trail.  Followed the single track along ridge to the Jolly Mtn. Trail #1307.  Returned back down Jolly Mtn. Trail to the West Fork of the Teanaway which we passed on our right on the way up the ridge.  Followed the WF to the end where we turned right onto Rd 113, following it back to Rd. 4305 and the cars.

Trail Conditions:

We did not encounter one blow down on the entire 35 miles.  Mud was almost non existent, while there were multiple patches of snow once inside the trees on the switch backs leading up to the peak on the Jolly Mtn. Trail.

Jolly Mtn Summit

The roads and trails were in great condition.  Some areas of the WF could use some pruning but other than that the ride was great.

If you go bring plenty of water, sun screen, food, water filter or some other means to purify water and plan on being out a while.  This ride is intense physically and mentally but well worth the effort.  The views are amazing.  You can see Glacier, Mt. Adams, Rainier, all of the Alpine Lake Wilderness and the Enchantments Range.

Note that the WF has some exposure at times and if your not good with heights you might have problems.
