I slept well last night. It was warmer than it had been in a while. A few snorers but nothing too bad.
The trail was easy going all the way to the Elkwallow Wayside. Once there, I bought some food supplies and got lunch. Lunch was fries, burger, chips, soda and a chocolate milkshake.
Hit the trail full to the brim. The rest of the hike was easy too. Had some nice views from Hogback Mountain. I saw a lot of rabbits in the AM and two deer (43) in the afternoon.
Camp is nice. I cleaned up and now Im chilling out in the sun trying to rid myself of my farmers tan. In a while, I’ll cook dinner then turn in around 8 PM.
I learned to play Pinochle tonight.
Scatman 2011- The hiking in the park was pretty straight forward. You followed the parkway as you had been since the Blue Ridge started back near Daleville and went from one civilized campground area to the next. I can remember hanging out at this shelter with my shirt off. It was a relaxing evening after some good hiking. I was really enjoying my time with Al and Bill, as well as all the new people we were meeting.
