Well I slept till 8:42 am! I couldn’t believe it. Staying up till past 12 wasn’t very smart.
The day was spent hanging out, eating, some drinking, laundry, more eating, organizing, and long talks on the phone with the U.S. immigration office.
The people who run the ferry from Canada were trying to tell me I couldn’t walk the last 4.5 miles from Goat Haunt to the border without my passport. I knew that had to be total bullshit. It’s U.S. soil and I’m a U.S. citizen. I just couldn’t cross the border.
Finally I talked to two supervisors who said I was fine to walk to the border. I’ll still cross into Canada as my dad will be handing me my passport at the border when he meets me.
I think the plan is for him to walk from

Waterton and meet me at the border. Then we’ll both hike back to Goat Haunt and take the ferry to Waterton. That should make the hiking easier on him and be a relaxing cruise to end my Triple Crown.

Back to Day 126, Forward to Day 128
