You have to deal with the miles some how…

I did have Subway for lunch then ordered pizza for dinner. I’ve been hanging out at the Motel 6 since about 3 pm. This is the last one I stay in. They suck. This is the second one I’ve been to without a working ice machine, no shampoo and loud as hell. Next time I will pay $20 to stay some place nicer.

It would appear I complain a lot. Maybe I do. It would appear my time in the woods makes me forget how the real world is rather than what I think it is. I would expand on these but frankly I’m too tired to express my feelings as they are. Instead they come out as simple cynical complaints. There’s much more to me than what you see here.

Crossing I-40

I did order some new shoes. My current ones are to small from my swelling feet.

It rained some during the night.  I was super happy that I didn’t attempt to sleep on the picnic table pad like the rest did.  As far as days go it was uneventful.  The first thing I did when I got to the edge of town was get a soda and some Subway before walking the final 6 or so miles to the hotel.

I know everyone hikes their own hike but it still amazes me the number of “thru-hikers” who believe hitching into on trail towns and out makes them a thru-hiker.  If you don’t walk a continuous path from start to finish you’re NOT a thru-hiker.  You don’t get to choose what areas you want to skip.  Road miles into and out of towns are still trail miles and count.
