Today was an unexpected day off since I hiked the 40 miler the other day. I also had to wait for a package from Fedex. I decided I was tired of constantly worrying about whether or not my solar charger was one, still attached to my pack and two, that it was getting sunlight. I found a power pack from Anker that claimed to charge the iPhone 6+ four times faster. It was only a few ounces heavier than my solar charger. I also only have one or two stretches that are more than 4 days. I almost never drain my battery in a day so I’m thinking this should be the ticket.

I organized my gear, trimmed my sleeping pad down, charged my phone and the power pack, watched a movie on Netflix (a first ever on any trail. Having a smart phone is a double edge sword.), had probably my first personally cooked hot lunch ever but I can’t be sure on that one, washed my rain gear for the first time ever, then I spent the rest of the afternoon talking to She-ra who I met on West Ridge going into Breckenridge.

We talked for hours then went to the restaurant for dinner. She is taking a different route tomorrow but we should bump into each other at some point throughout the day.

It’s raining now and rained/hailed earlier. There was reports of snow north of here. I thought I was done with that shit! The challenges never stop on the monster of a trail.
