Lots of critters making noise last night. It was also very warm. I only had to use my sleeping bag as a blanket. I slept okay.
We were up and going by 6 am. Not more than a half mile away we got closer to the Two Medicine River and the temperature dropped big time and walking got cold. It would stay that way until the sun got up high enough. This was later than normal due to all the smoke.
I spooked a bull moose in the woods only getting a quick peek of his velvet rack and butt. Later in the day I came across bear number seven. He was a beautiful black bear just inside Glacier National Park. He was not very afraid of us either. Yelling and banging my sticks did little to motivate him to leave the area.
When we got to Rt. 2 we knew you could get food at the Summit Lodge. Unfortunately they like many places around here were only open for dinner. We did manage to get a couple of Cokes. The owner came by and was super friendly and offered helpful information about headed.
We got to East Glacier at just after 5 pm. We found Toast at the Backpackers Inn. After catching up we went to eat at Serranos the Mexican restaurant my buddy from Carbondale friend owns. He also runs the Inn. The food was great and the rest of the night it was more catching up and planning the last few days of our hike.
I was up till 12:20 am watching a movie I rented on iTunes back in Anaconda. I hadn’t had time to watch it. A really long day indeed.
