We woke up to snow. I heard some light rain as I went to bed and saw a large thunderhead but never expected to see snow when I woke up. It was also insanely cold. Crazy thing is the night before I didn’t even zip up my sleeping bag all the way.

The day of hiking was pretty uneventful but the snow did clear the smoke from the air. The result was my first views in days and smoke free air to breathe. As we closed in on Roger’s Pass the terrain was great.

If you recall I was mistaken for a homeless person in Helena. Well today I went into the grocery store in Lincoln, my second time in an hour. I walked straight to the sodas and back to the front to checkout. I checked out and left. When I got outside Lott informed me the lady working there left what she was doing, went to the security camera station and change the cameras to follow me through the store.

Do I really look that bad? Does my appearance say I’m trouble or homeless? The worst thing I did in the store was to crop dust half the freezer isle.
