Last night my stomach was pissed at me. As I tried to sleep it was mildly upset. The real issue was I was hot then I’d get cold. Finally around 3 am I had to get up and shit. This made me feel some what better but not much. I actually woke Lott up doing so.
We got hiking just after six and made it 27 miles towards St. Mary’s. The only reason we didn’t do the other five mile was because a nasty looking rain, yes rain, storm was closing in on is fast. A guy who lives on the same block as the Backerpackers Inn picked us up and drove is back to town.
The wind on the road walk was terrible. The gusts must have been up to 60 mph. It made walking in a straight line very hard. The road had no shoulder so it was mostly all pavement walking.
We got some amazing views of the park from the road. The mountains are amazing. I was slightly bummed I wasn’t hiking through them. I will be on Tuesday and on my last day Wednesday. The views were possible since there was no smoke today.
When we got back both Lott and I took naps. I woke up hungry so we went to the dinner. I had grilled cheese, fries, soup, and a chocolate shake.
It’s been raining off and on since we got picked up. I hope this puts out the fires as it will open up options for us the next few days.
