I was up till midnight watching tv. Ugh!

We got up a little before 7 am, hit the continental breakfast then started hiking at 7:30 am. Bailey was impossible to control. She had the most energy of all three of us.

The day was long but didn’t feel like it or like we did 34 miles. It was 90% road, both paved and dirt. We didn’t hit trail till 4 pm and that was mile 23 or so. We had 30 miles in by 6 pm. We walked in fields and dense forests of skinny pines. Lots of new trail and not much for views due to the 80 wild fires out here in the west.

Right now I know both the southern half of Glacier is blocked off and the west side of Waterton Lake is closed and that is where I finish. There are also fires in the Bob and other areas just north of Helena which I’ll be at Thursday. There could be a lot of road walking in my future.
